Statement of Ethics

As researchers and collaborators, we actively engage with diverse communities across Canada to ensure that every project remains grounded in shared values, social responsibility, and long-term public stewardship.

Through careful research, practical technologies, and clear communication, we empower mission-driven groups to manage their resources, reach their goals, and contribute meaningfully to the public good.

  • We are committed to ethical practices, open dialogue, and continuous feedback.
  • We acknowledge both the potential and the limitations of our technologies.
  • We identify each project’s development stage; from early concept, to work-in-progress, to operational deployment.
  • We respect community-defined priorities that support informed decision-making, local autonomy, protect personal privacy, and safeguard data security.

Statement of Gratitude and Community

PublicBenefit encourages all collaborators to reflect on their community ties and to contribute to this shared effort with respect and care. Through ethical practice and sustained dialogue, we strive to build a more equitable, collaborative, and inclusive society rooted in public good and mutual respect.

We honour our responsibility to advance reconciliation and promote social equity. Our work begins with sincere acknowledgement of the Indigenous territories, communities, and peoples whose histories and lives shape our collective future. Miigwetch. Our head office is located on the traditional lands of Fort William First Nation a vibrant community of the Anishinaabe Nation.

Our commitment to inclusion also extends to newcomer communities and other groups across Canada. We recognise both inherited and self-defined identities, and we centre diverse perspectives at every stage of our work.
